No, you won’t need to take any downtime after your appointment. Any visible redness or swelling will dissipate in a day or so. The color will initially appear a bit bolder and darker, but not so much that you’ll have to deviate from your plans.

All Permanent Makeup happens in two steps. First an initial appointment, and second is a Touch-Up 10-12 weeks later. We will start with a consultation to discuss your desired results, so come with pictures to reference and an idea as to what you are looking for. Keep in mind that nobody’s face is completely symmetrical, so please be realistic with your expectations.Having a reference picture is great, but matching your lips or eyebrows to those of your favorite celebrity could be difficult if the face shapes are not similar. Also, bring in your favorite makeup to use as a color reference.
First, we will take your ‘Before’ pictures. Next, I will map the areas of your face that we will be targeting and draw the desired lip or brow design to give you an idea of the basic shape and form. Then we will select a color together, keep in mind that this is ultimately your decision, but I will always voice my opinion and provide coaching to make sure the finished look is aesthetically pleasing and compliments your features. Once we have agreed on the shape and color, I will administer a topical anesthetic for comfort. As soon as you are numb, we will start the tattooing process. And not long after, you’ll have new lips or brows!

Yes - all Permanent Makeup procedures will require a Touch-Up, we will schedule that immediately after your initial appointment. Touch-ups should be performed around the 10-12 week mark and will cost $100. Once your new lips or brows have completely healed, it is common for the color to fade up to 50% and/or could have some areas that appear a little patchy after the first appointment. This is completely normal! The Touch-Up session is our opportunity to reduce the fading significantly, we will also be able to evaluate the shape and color so we can make sure you leave with the brows or lips you desire. Based on skin type, lifestyle, and/or medications, some clients may require more than two sessions.

Your skin type and lifestyle (sun exposure, skin treatments, etc) will affect the results and longevity of your Permanent Makeup. Without Color Boost appointments, the results will last around 3-5 years.

Lips

Absolutely! Lip filler won’t have any impact on the lip tattooing process or the results. Just make sure that your lip filler and lip blush appointments are scheduled a minimum of six weeks apart. You SHOULD NOT receive any filler injections between your initial and Touch-Up lip blush appointments.
-
Yes you will be, lip blushing does result in some swelling immediately following the procedure. You can expect it to go down in about 24 hours.
-
Lip blushing will not cause cold sores, however it can trigger them in clients who carry the herpes simplex virus. To prevent a flare up, it is recommended to consult your doctor and start an antiviral prescription 5 days before your appointment and continue use for 5 days after. If you have EVER had a cold sore, EVEN ONE, you should take these steps prior to your appointment.

Yes, but only a small amount. We tend to keep this about 2mm. Most people experience some fading of their lip line over time due to aging. So even with the small enhancements, they will already appear fuller than before your appointment. The skin of the lips is different from facial skin, so as it heals it can look unnatural if it extends to far beyond the natural lip line.
-
Healing time varies among individuals. Typically it takes anywhere from 3-10 days for the top layer of skin to flake and fall off naturally. The area is considered healed after that time. The pigment will then take about a month to settle into the skin before we consider the process complete.
-
Keep the area clean and dry - that means no swimming, sweating, or getting the area wet. Avoid tanning or prolonged sun exposure. No picking, peeling, scratching, or rubbing the area; this could result in color loss or scarring. Avoid spicy food and drink through a straw to avoid additional discomfort. Once the scabs and/or flakiness is gone, you can consider them healed and treat them as normal.
-
If you want to maintain the color and keep your lips looking fresh, a Color Boost appointment is recommended between two and three years following the initial process. However, if you’re to the point where you feel like you need to apply lipstick daily, it’s probably time to book an appointment!
Brows

Most people will not experience swelling after Microblading. You may have slightly red skin around the eyebrows, but typically that will go away after a few hours.
-
No! Every attempt is made to retain all natural hair and integrate it into the design of the Permanent Makeup. Sometimes when shaping the eyebrow, a few hairs may need to be removed to assist in creating a clean and aesthetically pleasing look.
